“We had Riley B out today to do services on our furnace. He was very professional, easy to talk to, and worded everything in easy to understand terms. Our home is now warm and comfortable, and for a reasonable price. He was also super great with our toddler who seemed very interested in everything he was doing. I have used The Gentlemen Pros multiple times in the past year. For both plumbing, and heating. They always deliver, and get the job done. We have had great experiences with Terry in the past as well.We will definately keep using the Gentlemen Pros in the future. Thanks again!”

As boilers age, even with regular maintenance, things can go wrong. Some of the most common issues we repair include:
If you’re not sure what’s going on, but your home isn’t warm, give us a call! We’ll get to the bottom of it before it becomes a bigger problem.
Here’s an explanation of the differences between the three most common home heating systems:
Furnaces: Furnaces first warm hot air that is then blown through ducts / vents. They are efficient at quickly heating a home, and are easier and cheaper to repair than boilers.
Boilers: Boilers send hot water to radiators or pipes under basement flooring so that those areas radiate heat. They take longer to warm up and are more expensive to install and repair – but can be fixed in sections.
Electric Heating: Electric heating systems are like boilers in that they radiate heat, but they rely on electricity. Typically cheaper to repair than boilers, and bring heat quickly, but they are more expensive to operate over time than natural gas furnaces – especially in cold climates.
Not sure what your plumber just said? Here’s a quick reference to help decode boiler jargon:
Radiator: The wall or floor unit that gives off heat in each room. Often looks like tall metal rungs in a rectangle area, or a metal shaped rectangle that gets really hot from heat coming from it.
Pressure Relief Valve: A safety valve that lets off excess pressure to avoid explosions…
Circulator Pump: Moves the hot water through the system to the radiators.
Kettling: That whistling sound boilers make when limescale builds up (get it cleaned!).
Expansion Tank: Keeps water pressure balanced as the boiler heats up and expands.
Pilot Light: The small flame that starts the heating process—if it goes out, your heat might too.
Annual boiler maintenance is one of the best ways to prevent breakdowns – especially before winter hits. In Edmonton’s freezing temperatures, proactive care can save you from emergency calls, water damage, or a frozen home. Booking with us to checkup on thiese list will help you save money and avoid emergency repairs.
